MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Age: All applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Applicants are required to submit reliable proof of age (e.g., a driver’s license, birth certificate or other acceptable documentation).
  • Photo ID: U.S. Government or State issued photo ID for verification of identification.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalency is not required but is recommended. Applicants must submit a DD-214 to verify military training and/or experience if they are a veteran and wish to receive consideration for such training/experience. 
  • Transportation: The applicant must have access to adequate transportation to attend On-the-Job Learning and Related Instruction classes.

  • Physical: Applicants will be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others. All applicants will be required to pass a physical examination on acceptance into the program at their own expense, prior to being employed as an apprentice. All applicants shall, at their own expense, be tested for the presence of illegal drugs as part of the selection process. Applicants who fail to pass the drug test will be ineligible for acceptance and may not reapply for one (1) year thereafter.
  • Ability: All applicants must satisfy the Committee that they have the ability and aptitude to master the rudiments of the trade, based upon oral interview, written documentation submitted by the applicant, and evaluation ratings.
